Tara King serves as the Chief Manufacturing Officer for Quantum Photonics and is proud to be 4th generation owner and Executive Vice President of the business her great grandfather created over a century ago. Tara began her career at ULC in 2006, and has served in a variety of different positions within the company from running machines throughout production and having various administrative positions throughout all of ULC's production departments, Sales, Accounting, and Human Resources. Tara has also held leadership roles within the company as well, including Sales Office Manager and Director of Sales & Marketing. She holds a Bachelors of Arts in Studio Art from the University of North Georgia, and both a Master’s in Business Administration and a Master’s of Science in Organizational Leadership from Nichols College. Mr. Horan began his career as a Special Agent of the FBI on September 29, 1987, and was assigned to the Omaha Division. In Omaha, Mr. Horan worked in several investigative areas to include White Collar Crime, Foreign Counterintelligence, and reactive matters such as Bank Robberies, Kidnappings, and Fugitives.
In February 1992, he was assigned to the FBI Office in Houston, Texas to work drug-related investigations. He led an Organized Crime Drug Task Force responsible for the demise of the Cali Cartel. Through coordination with multiple agencies in different states and countries, his team seized two tons of cocaine with a street value of 80 million dollars, along with millions of dollars in US Currency. This accomplishment is still the largest seizure in the region.
Mr. Horan’s expertise in Criminal Matters, Corporate Fraud, Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, Public Corruption, Organized Crime, and Terrorism led to the designation of subject matter expert during legal proceedings.
Throughout his career, Mr. Horan has managed security and intelligence operations by identifying and mitigating threats and risks while cultivating relationships between agencies and businesses.
Mr. Horan was recognized as the Outstanding Law Enforcement Agent for three consecutive years by the United States Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Texas. He has been awarded numerous times for his outstanding investigative achievements by the Director of the FBI.
Mr. Horan retired after 29 years of service and is a member of the Society of Former Special Agents of the Federal Bureau of Investigations, FBI Agents Association, Society of 1811’s, and FBI Law Enforcement Executive Development.
